Alaska provides milk through the Special Milk Program to children in schools and residential child care institutions (RCCIs) in the state who do not participate in other federal food service programs. This program reimburses schools and RCCIs for the milk they serve. But to avail the benefits of this program one has to fulfill the prescribed income limit. Alaska Special Milk Program Income Limits 2024

Through the Special Milk Program in Alaska, the Department provides nutritious milk to children in selected schools and institutions. Schools can also participate in the National School Lunch or School Breakfast Program to provide milk to children in half-day pre-kindergarten and kindergarten programs where children do not have access to school meal programs. Who is eligible for Alaska Special Milk Program?

To be eligible for the Alaska Special Milk Program, you must meet all of the following eligibility requirements below.

  • Applicant must be a native of the state of Alaska
  • Anyone who has a child from a school or institution that participates in the special milk program will be eligible.
  • Children from low income or very low income families will be eligible for this program.
  • To continue receiving program benefits, each child's family must apply annually for free milk eligibility.
